The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) is to host a three-day food and drink exhibition - 'Flavour of Abuja' - from November 30 to December 2.
The event, which is organised by Ver-Annies Concept Limited, will take place at the Old Parade Ground, Area 10.
Ann Adinkwe, the Managing Director of Ver-Annies Concept Limited, said the event will afford restaurant operators, farmers and food vendors, among others to showcase their products to the world.
"The fair will strengthen and promote Nigerian dishes, as well as the tourism industry, by making information available to support their business," she said. "The event will also generate employment opportunities and foster partnerships and collaboration within and across the food and tourism operators."
Initiator of the event, Jackie Opara, added that the event is aimed at eradicating poverty and hunger in the country, by showcasing enabling business opportunities in the food sub sector.
She explained that all the 36 states, including the FCT, will be represented at the event, adding that there will also be food competition and cultural displays. "There will be adequate security for all the participants and over 33,000 customers expected to visit the event,” she said.
According to her, six foreign embassies and many other institutions have so far indicated interest to partner with the organisers to ensure the event’s success
